Alaska
About This Lodge
Lake Creek flows 65 miles from the base of the towering Mt. McKinley to the Yentna River. It’s a clear, gravel-bottom river where all species of Pacific salmon flock to spawn each year.
Located approximately 1.5 miles from the mouth of Lake Creek, McDougall Lodge is the ideal location to access the salmon spawns. Your private Alaskan fishing guide will customize your trip to suit your individual style. Jet sleds allow fishing the lower eight miles of Lake Creek, as well as various other clear-water tributaries of the Yentna River, so you won’t miss any opportunities.
Full service lodge rates are per person, shared double occupancy. Packages are based on a morning arrival on the first day and a late afternoon departure on the final day of your stay.
What Makes It Unique
- McDougall Lodge is located on a mile long slough Lake Creek waters runs into and meets the glacier waters of the Yentna River in front of the lodge. Thousands of all 5 species of Salmon come into the clean Lake Creek waters in front of our lodge to clean their gills, and either swim back into the glacier waters a mile up the slough , or swim up Lake Creek to spawn. There are over 8 other clear water tributaries up river they will go to to spawn. So we are one of the best Salmon fisheries in NW Alaska.
