About This Lodge
The Shearwater Lodge is ideal situated on the Central Coast of British Columbia. The Great Bear Rainforest will set the stage for an unforgettable fishing trip of a lifetime. The unspoiled waters surrounding the lodge (The ‘Hot Spots’ are located 5 to 45 minutes from the resort in the surrounding protected channels and inlets) have an abundance of huge and hard-hitting Chinook Salmon otherwise known as King Salmon that are consistently in the Tyee class (over 30 pounds).
Our salmon fishing charters can produce spectacular results with Chinook or King salmon topping 72 lbs., Coho or Silver to 25 lbs., and Halibut to 200 lbs. Abundant bottom fish are also available including Lingcod, Red Snapper and Rock Fish. Your choice of fish species are plentiful… but there is also diverse wildlife to enjoy.
The Shearwater Resort is the Gateway to the Great Bear Rainforest where wildlife is abundant in this vast area of temperate rainforest. Bald eagles, black tail deer and bears—grizzlies, black bears and the rare white Spirit Bear—are all found here. It is possible to see Humpback Whales, Orcas, steller Sea lions, Dall’s porpoises and harbour seals and enjoy the sounds and sights in one of the most untamed areas of British Columbia.
Sightings of Orca’s (or Killer Whales), Humpback Whales, and Grey Whales are possible all season long because of our special area on the Central West Coast of BC. We provide all inclusive fishing vacations in BC that incorporate roundtrip airfare from Vancouver, BC, to the resort, comfortable on-shore accommodations in the Shearwater Lodge, hearty west-coast style meals, complimentary BC VQA wines with dinner, non-alcoholic beverages, 10-12 hrs of fishing per full day, bait, fuel, tackle, filleting and vacuum packing and flash freezing of your catch. We also include one day of guided fishing to get you familiar with the area to get you set up for an unforgettable semi guide fishing adventure of a lifetime!
